My fingers are sore now, from playing the ukelele I was gifted this last Christmas from my sister and brother-in-law. That's right, they both collectively gifted me a ukelele; in the spirit of pinching pennies, they are no longer in the business of handing out individual presents for Christmas. Remember, Santa's sweatshop is cheap - but so is Santa.
I jest. Anywho, regarding my recent post about visiting a temple, well, that didn't go very well. A guy from Church saw me buying a vape. When the bishop questioned me about the Word of Wisdom, I cracked and admitted that I haven't been following it so strictly.
Regarding the first paragraph here, I am finding that I am just not a string instrumentalist. Sure, I can riff just fine on a harmonica or even a piano, but when it comes to the ukelele, there is like one trick I can do. Maybe some day I will go through and religiously memorize all the chords, all the progressions, maybe learn some Hawaiian music. These days, if you play Hawaiian music at all, everyone is probably just gonna tell you it sounds like SpongeBob music; which, for the record, it totally does, but yeah. I haven't even tuned this ukelele properly. The tuner it came with needs a battery, and I didn't even bother to put one in. So, I have it set up by ear, and I have to say, it sounds pretty good, but not standard in the slightest. The little melodies I've been playing on it remind me of raga; I think the nonstandard tuning gives it a more Eastern feel, which I kind of dig, to be honest.
Anywho, things are looking good in life. We're now formally evicted after having no electricity for months. My mom got in a screaming match with the landlord of the house (who is not the owner, by the way; the owner is totally chill, if a bit eccentric). So, we've applied for every apartment in the county, and we're at the top of the list for a low-income place on the coast. I'm really hoping we get in there, but if we don't, I'm sure better things will come.
On top of all that, I've nearly saved up enough money to go back to school! I used the stupid MoonPay app to try and sell some BitCoin, and all my money disappeared. I was really bummed~! But, as it turned out, they secretly refunded me without telling me - and the price of BTC has soared since I got it! So, I was able to pay off a substantial portion of my debt. With the Door Dashing, I should be able to go back Spring or Summer term! I feel so relieved - finally, I can get on with my life!
My mom and I are still saving up for an RV, though. We have a two year saving goal for a trip to the big apple. We're gonna make the most of it - eat at all the five star restaurants, see a play, a symphony. I am most excited to just walk around Manhattan.
Oh, and lastly, my sister and her little family (her husband and my nephew) are all moving out soon (WITH THEIR DOGS!) As much as I love them, I am absolutely stoked. Now I can record videos at 2 A.M. without worrying about waking anybody up.
Anyways, wherever you are, I hope you have a good day, night, evening, etc.
Peace
P.S. BFT II is now out!
