Knowledge is interesting. Philosophers have debated for centuries as to what knowledge is, dating back to at least Plato with his "justified true belief" proposal.

I'm the type of person where, if you shake my hand and I get your name, then I've met you. I know you. Sure, I might know everything about your inner life, and the knowledge might be superficial, but that's all that I require to say that I "know" someone.

Some people, however, insist that they do not know someone even after talking with them multiple times. They'll say "I don't know them know them," or something along those lines. This is interesting, because this is actually closer to the famous Biblical sense of the word. Take, for example:

Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain. - Genesis 4:1
Now, I doubt that these people are using the phrase "I don't know them know them" to mean anything sexual... (people who use this phrase: you're not, right? just double-checking.) But, it is interesting how some peoples' definition of "knowing someone" means something more intimate than what I might mean.

I actually think it's kind of annoying when people say they don't know me even though they've met me several times. There was a church I used to go to, and I took a little break from it for a while, and when I came back most people didn't remember me or used the phrase "I don't think we've met" more loosely. This is actually kind of offputting, and definitely made me feel less welcome.

Finds

Anyways, let's move on.

There's a guy on YouTube named Nao Sogabe who plays lovely lute music. Now, I think his facial expressions are kind of exaggerated/haughty, almost sexual at times, and I get a sense of self-importance from the guy. Now, if you're playing lute for three hours straight, I guess you gotta do what you gotta do, right?

Anyways, that one's not really a "find;" after all, the guy has like a billion subs and I've been listening to him for a while now. An actual find would be Tuna Time media, an awesome little music/slice of life channel that just has an awesome rawness to it. Definitely enjoying this, though I've refrained from posting more than one or two comments because I don't wanna be "that guy" (see: stalker).

What I've Been Playing

Oh yeah, and I've been playing a lot of games recently. Haven't beaten any, which is why I haven't posted any reviews. I'm somewhat of a dilettante.

The most interesting game so far is called Culdcept on the PS2; it's been characterized as a mix between Monopoly and Yu-Gi-Oh! The games drag on a bit long, but I'm doing RetroAchievements now, and it's one of those games that basically just awards you for progression, so I think I'll stick with it. There is a huge difficulty spike once you start using symbols/battling mutliple people at once.

Another really fun game has been Sled Storm on the PS1. The tricks are hard to memorize, though.

I've also been playing a month-long game of Mario Party 7 with my sister and brother-in-law. We are playing on the Pyramid map, the one where you ride around on Chain Chomps and crush people to steal their stars. Classic. Anyways, Birdo's being a real see you next Tuesday, and we've all unanimously decided to gang up against her.
